Profiles
A profile is a saved enhancement configuration: a name and a set of rewriting instructions (the system prompt PromptDC uses to transform your text). Profiles are how PromptDC knows whether to fix grammar, draft an email, or rewrite a coding prompt.

Built-in writing profiles
Grammar
Fixes spelling, grammar, and punctuation only — preserves your voice and formatting. Returns text unchanged if it is already correct.
Rewrites your text as a clear, structured business email with a greeting, scannable body, and sign-off.
Social
Rewrites text as a scroll-stopping social post with a hook; adapts to X, LinkedIn, or Instagram.
Image Prompt
Expands an idea into one richly detailed text-to-image prompt for Midjourney, DALL·E, or Stable Diffusion.
Summarize
Distills text into a one-line overview plus concise bullets, matched to the input length.
Reply
Drafts a tone-matched reply to a received message, addressing each point without inventing facts.
Professional
Rewrites text in a polished, professional workplace tone.
Concise
Cuts filler and rewrites text to be as short and clear as possible while keeping the facts.
Explain
Rewrites text so a general audience understands it, clarifying jargon in plain language.
The tenth built-in is Code — the coding prompt rewriter, managed in the Coding tab. It has no editable instructions by default because it uses PromptDC's platform-aware default coding behavior. See System prompts.
Creating & editing profiles.
Everything is managed in the PromptDC sidebar Writing tab. Changes auto-save and sync to your account.
01. Create
Click New in the Writing tab, name the profile, and write its rewriting instructions in the text area.
02. Edit
Select any profile to change its name or instructions. There is no Save button — changes save automatically.
03. Reset a built-in
Built-in profiles show a Reset button that restores their original name and instructions if you have customized them.
04. Delete & restore
Delete any profile with the trash icon. Deleting a built-in hides it; a Restore option in the sidebar brings it back to its original position.
Where profiles apply
Pick a profile on any page from the enhance button's switcher caret on the floating toolbar, or set a profile to auto-activate on a website with a per-website rule. Coding sites default to the Code profile until you add custom profiles or per-website rules. Editing profiles and rules requires a paid plan.

What is a profile in PromptDC?

What are the built-in profiles?
Code (coding mode), Grammar, Email, Social, Image Prompt, Summarize, Reply, Professional, Concise, and Explain. The nine writing profiles appear in the Writing tab; Code is managed in the Coding tab.
How do I create my own profile?
Open the PromptDC sidebar, go to the Writing tab, click New, give the profile a name, and write its rewriting instructions. Settings auto-save, and your profiles sync to your PromptDC web dashboard.
Can I edit or reset the built-in profiles?
Yes. You can edit any profile's name and instructions. Built-in profiles also have a Reset button that restores their original shipped name and instructions. You can delete a built-in too; a Restore option brings it back later.
Do profiles sync across devices?
Yes. Profiles and per-website rules sync to your PromptDC account, so the same setup follows you across browsers where you are signed in.
