Enhance prompts inside your terminal.
PromptDC Desktop is the flagship app for macOS and Windows and the first desktop app to enhance prompts inside terminal CLIs. Select existing prompt text in Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Grok, Agy (Antigravity CLI), or OpenCode, press Cmd+Shift+E (macOS) or Ctrl+Shift+E (Windows), review the editable popover, and Replace or Copy without PromptDC auto-submitting. One install works everywhere: in terminals, IDEs, browser fields, and desktop apps, with per-app default profiles.
The workflow
Selected text in. Reviewed prompt out.
PromptDC does not monitor or intercept everything typed into the shell. You explicitly select the prompt you want to enhance and trigger the shortcut yourself.
- 01
Select existing text
Highlight the prompt already in the terminal input. PromptDC does not intercept everything typed into the shell.
- 02
Use the Enhance shortcut
Press Cmd+Shift+E on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+E on Windows while the terminal is focused.
- 03
Review the editable result
PromptDC always opens its review popover for a terminal target. Inspect the enhancement and edit it if needed.
- 04
Choose Replace or Copy
Replace pastes into the terminal input without pressing Enter. Copy leaves the terminal input unchanged.
Supported CLIs
Six tested terminal CLIs.
Claude Code, Codex CLI, and Gemini CLI use tool-specific enhancement prompts. Grok, Agy (Antigravity CLI), and OpenCode use the Code profile prompt. All six are tested and work, and they are detected across macOS and Windows.

Safety model
Always review. Never automatic Enter.
Every terminal enhancement opens the editable review popover. Replace pastes the enhanced prompt into the input and never presses Enter; Copy leaves the terminal input unchanged.
On macOS, Replace first sends one Ctrl+C to clear the line. This can interrupt a running foreground process or streaming response, so use Copy when you do not want the terminal input changed.
Terminal prompt enhancement FAQ
What is a terminal prompt enhancer?
PromptDC Desktop is the flagship app for macOS and Windows and the first desktop app to enhance prompts inside terminal CLIs. Select prompt text inside any terminal, press Cmd+Shift+E on macOS or Ctrl+Shift+E on Windows, review the editable popover, and choose Replace or Copy.
Does PromptDC intercept everything typed into the shell?
No. PromptDC does not monitor or intercept background typing. You explicitly select existing prompt text and trigger the shortcut yourself whenever you want an enhancement.
Which terminal CLIs does PromptDC support?
PromptDC supports Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Grok, Agy (Antigravity CLI), and OpenCode across macOS and Windows in both standalone and IDE-integrated terminals.
Does PromptDC automatically run the enhanced prompt?
No. Replace pastes the enhanced prompt into the terminal input and never presses Enter. You review the result and decide when to submit it.
Why can Replace interrupt something on macOS?
On macOS, Replace first sends one Ctrl+C to clear the input line before pasting. If a process is actively running or streaming, choose Copy instead to leave the terminal input untouched.
Do I need the Chrome extension or IDE extensions if I have Desktop?
No. The PromptDC Desktop app alone covers every terminal CLI, IDE AI chat panel, browser, and desktop app on macOS and Windows. The Chrome extension and IDE extensions are optional additions.
Can I use terminal prompt enhancement for free or without an account?
No. PromptDC requires sign-in, an internet connection, and a paid plan because enhancement calls a remote endpoint. There is no free plan, free trial, or free credits.
