Per-website rules
A per-website rule auto-activates a profile on a specific site, so you never have to pick one manually. Set the Email profile on Gmail, Social on LinkedIn, or Grammar on Google Docs, and PromptDC uses it automatically every time.
Rules are part of how PromptDC resolves the active mode on each page.
Setting a rule.
Two ways — both auto-save and sync to your account.
01. From the sidebar
Open the sidebar Writing tab, find Per-website defaults, type the site (e.g. gmail.com), choose a profile, and click Add. Remove a rule any time with its trash icon.
02. By switching on the site
On any non-coding site, open the enhance button's switcher caret and pick a profile. PromptDC remembers that choice as the default for that website.
Common rules
gmail.com→Email profilelinkedin.com→Social profilex.com→Social profiledocs.google.com→Grammar profilereddit.com→Reply profileResolution order
When you open a page, PromptDC picks the active profile in this order. The first match wins:
- 1. Your saved per-website choice or profile rule, once you have customized profiles.
- 2. Code on a recognized coding site.
- 3. Your last-used profile on other sites.
- 4. Grammar as the safe default on other sites.
Rule FAQs.
What is a per-website rule?
A per-website rule auto-activates a specific profile on a specific site — for example, the Email profile on gmail.com or the Social profile on linkedin.com. PromptDC then enhances with that profile automatically whenever you use that site.
How do I set a per-website rule?
Open the PromptDC sidebar, go to the Writing tab, and use the Per-website defaults card: type the site (for example gmail.com), pick a profile from the dropdown, and click Add. You can also just switch profiles on a site — your choice is remembered for that website.
Can I override the mode on coding sites?
Yes. Coding sites default to the Code profile while you have only built-in profiles. After you add a custom profile, you can save a per-website rule or site choice that overrides the default.
In what order are rules applied?
Coding sites use Code as the initial default. Once you customize profiles, a per-website rule or saved site choice takes priority. Other sites then fall back to your last-used profile and finally Grammar.
Do per-website rules sync across devices?
Yes. Per-website rules and profiles sync to your PromptDC account, so your setup follows you across signed-in browsers.
