Runway Gen-4.5 shot directionExample

Runway Gen-4.5, 8 seconds, 16:9, realistic workshop film. Begin in an extreme close-up of a kiln latch as a ceramicist's soot-marked hand releases it. The camera dollies backwards at the same speed as the heavy door opens, revealing rows of newly fired cobalt bowls glowing in warm kiln light. At 3 seconds, continue the uninterrupted move into a low semicircle around the ceramicist; the foreground door briefly occludes the frame, then reveals her face in medium close-up as orange light gives way to cool morning light from a high window. She exhales and smiles slightly while heat haze moves between lens and subject. End with the camera entirely still for one second; only dust and heat shimmer continue moving. Natural weight in the door and hand, restrained facial performance, no cuts or sudden zoom. Audio note: metal latch, deep hinge creak, kiln tick and a quiet breath, with no music.

Runway Gen-4.5 can follow layered camera choreography, but the direction remains clearest when it uses positive, literal language and one coherent shot. Text-to-video prompts should establish both the visual scene and its movement, while image-to-video prompts can leave appearance to the source frame and concentrate on motion. Describe what enters, exits or is revealed as the camera travels, then keep any audio cue as a separate note for generation or the later edit.
