Improve Your Workflow with Cline AI Coding — From IDE to Terminal

Cline brings an AI coding agent into an editor such as VS Code, where it can inspect a project and work from natural language requests. Clear scope and approval boundaries help keep that agent workflow predictable.

Unlocking the Potential of Cline AI Coding

The effectiveness of Cline depends on the clarity of your prompts. A well-defined request can help it generate scripts, debug code, and explain proposed terminal steps while you stay in the editor.

PromptDC Alongside Cline

PromptDC turns rough Cline requests into structured instructions with clearer context, constraints, and output requirements.

Move from the Cline panel to a CLI

Cline's main prompt surface is its editor chat, where the PromptDC IDE extension can refine the selected request. If you open a separate coding CLI in VS Code's integrated terminal, the editor extension is no longer the right surface. Select that terminal input and use PromptDC Desktop before submitting it.

From Cline to the terminal, PromptDC works everywhere

The PromptDC desktop app for macOS and Windows enhances selected text in Cline, every browser, IDE chat panel, desktop AI app and terminal. Use Cmd+Shift+E or Ctrl+Shift+E to open an editable review, then Replace or Copy.

PromptDC is the first desktop app to enhance prompts inside terminal CLIs, including Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Grok, Agy and OpenCode. Choose the Code profile for implementation-ready prompts, and set it as the default profile for each coding app or terminal.

The Chrome extension and IDE extensions are optional. Chrome adds in-place rewriting without Accessibility permission, while IDE extensions add a target-agent picker and Simple or Structured output; the desktop app already covers browser fields, IDE chats and terminals.
